World Encounter is a Twin Cities nonprofit empowering women in Tanzania through microloans and mentorship. Their mission fuels small business growth and community development, creating ripple effects that support entire villages.
As their programs expanded, World Encounter needed a brand identity that reflected the vibrancy, resilience, and entrepreneurial spirit of the women they serve. I partnered with them to reimagine their brand and bring it to life across their website, social media, and flagship virtual events.

World Encounter’s mission is rooted in connection: between donors and women entrepreneurs, between mentors and mentees, and between local communities and global networks of support. But their previous brand didn’t reflect the energy of this work or the stories of the women at its center.
As they expanded their digital presence and created new donor engagement opportunities, World Encounter needed a cohesive identity system that honored their grassroots spirit while elevating their message for new audiences. The goal was to spark action—whether that meant giving, mentoring, or attending events—by bringing clarity, emotion, and humanity to every brand touchpoint.

Designing for empowerment and connection.
I developed a new brand identity system grounded in World Encounter’s core values: empowerment, community, and growth. The design language is vibrant and optimistic, with rich color palettes and custom iconography inspired by global connection and entrepreneurial journeys. The brand voice was refreshed to be warm, inclusive, and action-oriented—making it easier for World Encounter to tell the stories of the women they serve and invite others to join the mission.
This rebrand came to life across multiple channels:
Website Redesign: A fresh user experience and design system that makes World Encounter’s mission accessible, engaging, and easy to support.
Social Media: New post templates, graphics, and messaging frameworks to promote events, share success stories, and build community.
Virtual Events: Branded materials for experiences like the International Women’s Day Summit and ROSE Brunch, creating consistent, memorable moments of connection.

The rebrand helped World Encounter shift from a small nonprofit look and feel to a dynamic, community-first presence that matches the scale of their vision. The new system allows their team to confidently create marketing materials, digital content, and event experiences that resonate with donors, mentors, and women entrepreneurs alike.
Most importantly, the work helped amplify World Encounter’s mission: empowering women to lead bold, independent futures—and drive economic growth, worldwide.
